About the Event

On September 24, 2026, the 3rd “Dhaka China Day” was successfully held at East West University in Bangladesh. The event was organized by the Embassy of China in Bangladesh and East West University, with the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka as the implementing organization. The Confucius Institute at North South University, Shanto Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom (SMHHCC), the Confucius Institute at University of Chittagong, the Bangladesh Chinese Enterprises Association, and the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh served as supporting organizations.

The event featured a wide range of cultural activities and created a vibrant atmosphere of Chinese culture. SMHHCC actively participated in the event by setting up a distinctive Chinese cultural experience booth. To provide visitors with diverse and engaging cultural experiences, SMHHCC prepared two featured activities: bamboo weaving paintings and twist-stick crafts.

The twist-stick crafts featured traditional Chinese flowers such as plum blossoms, orchids, and chrysanthemums, as well as Chinese-style hairpins. The bamboo weaving paintings incorporated various elements of Chinese culture, including the Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall, and mooncakes associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival. With their delicate designs and distinctive Chinese characteristics, the artworks attracted many visitors to stop by, appreciate the works, and take part in the hands-on activities.

Through its participation in the 3rd “Dhaka · China Day,” SMHHCC gained a valuable platform for cultural exchange and external engagement, allowing more local people to experience and learn about Chinese culture up close. In the future, SMHHCC will continue to make use of various China-Bangladesh exchange activities to provide richer and more diverse cultural experiences tailored to local audiences, contributing to cultural exchange and friendly relations between China and Bangladesh.
